How do I get started?

What does tree pruning mean?
Pruning removes selected branches or parts of a tree to improve shape or growth, remove dead or rubbing limbs, reduce hazards, and increase light and air penetration.
Why is tree topping discouraged?
Topping cuts branches back to stubs or undersized lateral branches. It can harm the tree and create more hazardous growth over time, so proper pruning is the better approach.
When is tree removal necessary?
Removal is generally a last resort, but it may be appropriate when a tree is hazardous or damaged or diseased beyond repair. An inspection helps determine whether pruning or other care could address the concern.
